Meet Our Teachers

Music Together teachers are passionate about the myriad benefits of music education during early childhood. We create a fun, informal setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's unique music development journey in tandem with their beloved grown-ups. Teachers receive training, certification and continuing education from Music Together Worldwide and participate in a semester-long apprenticeship to fully integrate ongoing research and best teaching practices. We love being part of your child's introduction to the joyful world of music-making, which sets the foundation for a lifetime of enriching musical experiences.

Mary Anne's lifelong love of music led her to attend Music Together classes when her daughters were young, and at the first class she knew she'd found her calling. She taught preschool at UCDS and Kindergarten at The Meridian School prior to launching Chickadee Music Together in 2005. Mary Anne completed Music Together teacher training with Lili Levinowitz, co-author of Music Together, and has shared the joy of Music Together with Seattle families ever since! She earned a BA in Anthropology from University of Washington and graduate level K-8 teacher certification from Pacific Oaks College with an emphasis in Human Development. She sings with the Phinney Neighborhood Community Chorus, hones her skills on the ukulele and has great memories of playing alto saxophone in the high school marching band. Mary Anne believes shared musical experiences bring families and communities together and is proud to offer the high-quality, research-based Music Together curriculum. In addition to teaching Music Together, Mary Anne is a certified Roots of Empathy instructor.
